Third Year Gradaute Student

About Me:

I am a Lebanese graduate student who was born in the city of the sun "Baalbeck". At the age of 17, I moved to the capital city "Beirut" to pursue my higher education in chemistry. After earning my B.S from the Lebanese University in 2003, I joined the American University of Beirut and got my M.S in organic chemistry in 2007. For the first 25 years of my life, I  never thought I would leave my beloved country, however, my passion for becoming a chemistry professor motivated me to come to the states and work on my PhD studies. In fall 2007,  I joined the McQuade group where I was trained by the finest and smartest students I have ever met in my life. In my spare time, I enjoy working out, cooking, baking, watching sports, reading and sleeping.

Research:

I'm currently working on asymmetric synthesis of  substituted 2-cyclohexenones using organocatalysis, these molecules are of great importance in organic synthesis.
